Before becoming a full-time tattoo artist, I was a server at a steak house, just basically dealing with so many difficult people and not have control of my life and not be able to do anything artistic or anything fun about it. I chose Body Art & Soul because I had looked for apprenticeships before and hadn’t found anything. So I did end up putting the idea away for a couple years, went
to college, and then when I finally graduated , this shop had opened up and it was closer to me and made it doable instead of having to go to Brooklyn and I’m in Connecticut and I can’t really do it. So, it just kind of was like fate at that
time. What inspires me to come into the shop
every day is the environment really. I like being around the people that I
work with, I get to have the freedom in knowing that what I do is fully my
choice and it’s a fun time. I always say the biggest thing for me is don’t hold yourself back because of something else. Don’t create that
wall. I know for me the wall was that I didn’t really have many ways of getting to do this but I still made it through and pushed for it and hustled my
ass off and now you know I made it and I’m glad I did it!
