– [Narrator] Prison is
a frightening concept. Hundreds of hardened criminals cooped up together in one place. People facing years
locked up in a tiny cell living on a poor diet, nothing much to do. It’s no surprise that
deadly disputes arise, and prisoners feel they
need to hurt each other. But with no real weapons
available to the average prisoner, they get creative
fashioning deadly weapons out of whatever they can find. Here’s the top 20 most
lethal prison weapons. – Amazing! (echoing celestial music) – [Narrator] Number 20,
dummy sub-machine gun. While this weapon isn’t actually
a working sub-machine gun, it certainly looks the part. If I was a prison guard
having this pointed at my head in a darkened room, I’d
probably do what I was told. This dummy gun was found by guards in 1994 in Wolfenbuttel Prison, Germany after they received a
tip-off that an escape was being planned. It’s made from a grease
injector, a piece of wood, and a rubber sleeve all stuck
together with black tape. Not only is this tool great for prisoners to intimidate others, especially
when planning attacks, the side benefit is it carries
a much smaller punishment than carrying something
that actually works. Number 19, double-edged blade. This slab of pure evil is a piece of wood with razor blades stuck into it; five large ones on one side,
six smaller ones on the other. It’s wrapped up in strong
tape to hold it together, and a handle was stuck onto it. I can only imagine the
damage this thing can cause. If you’re wondering where the
prisoner found the razors, the large ones were safety
razors used for shaving. The smaller ones were used
from pencil sharpeners. In prisons today, prisoners
use special razors that are hard to break
and are bright orange so difficult to hide. But never underestimate criminals
with time on their hands and violence on their minds. Number 18, prison grill. Another entry from Germany. This was found by a guard
in Ludwigsburg Prison back in the 1980s. It’s a homemade electric grill made from the components
of a broken heater, some tin foil, and some electric wire. It’s possible that the
prisoner in question just wanted to make
some toast in his cell, but I’d sleep with one eye open
if my psychopathic cell mate was using one of these late at night. Number 17, crossbow. Yes, you heard me right. This is a prison-made
crossbow discovered by guards at Stony Mountain Institution
in Canada in 1988. It was made out of 10 toothbrushes, bits of a cigarette lighter,
aluminum food tongs, and part of a coat hanger. The arrows were made out of matches, tightly rolled paper and masking tape, foil, and bits of electric wire. When the guards confiscated the crossbow, thankfully before it could
be used, they tested it. They found it could shoot
accurately up to 40 feet. Pretty impressive. It’s now in a museum. Number 16, catapult. This is another one from
Wolfenbuttel Prison in Germany where they are clearly incarcerating their most ingenious criminals. This is a wrist rocket
seized by guards in 1991. It was made by an inmate
in the metal workshop of the prison. It could be used to fire
letters over the fence into the outside world,
or fire deadly projectiles at other prisoners. When it was confiscated,
the inmate who made it said it wasn’t a catapult, it
was a piece of abstract art, entitled ‘Dachsund’. Number 15, knuckleduster. This monstrosity is another
Wolfenbuttel Prison special. Honestly, what is going on in that place? It’s a knuckleduster made
from a metal wood file presumably stolen from
the prison workshop. It’s coarse, sharp teeth were
normally used to shape wood, but this inmate had
managed to curl the metal into a round circle and
tied padding on with string so he could grip it. Presumably the next thing it would shape would be another prisoner’s face, and not in a nice way either. Luckily, it was confiscated
before it was used. Number 14, mace. This homemade mace was found
hidden in the metal workshop of Santa Fu Prison near
Hamburg in Germany. It was made by welding
nails to a metal pole. Although it could be
used as a deadly weapon, it was thought that it
was going to be used during an escape attempt. It could be used to
destroy the barbed wire on the top of the prison walls before the wannabe
fugitive would climb over. Number 13, bedpost gun. Here’s a weapon that actually
works and was actually used. This gun was made out of iron bedposts and the charge on top of the gun was made out of match
heads couple with lead pilfered from the prison curtain tapes. The ignition came from a
broken light bulb filament and two AA batteries. It could fire whatever
someone put in the barrel such as bolts or stones. In 1984, two took a guard hostage and fired their homemade gun, breaking a sheet of bulletproof glass. They ran into a waiting car and escaped. Number 12, glass blade. This may look like something
out of Game of Thrones, but it’s just an ordinary
prison-made glass dagger. It’s made out of a long piece
of tough, reinforced glass, terrifically strong, taken
from a broken window pane. The prisoner had filed it into a spike and used take to fashion a
handle that he could grip. It could then be used as a
very effective stabbing device. Number 11, molten chocolate bar. One thing you’d imagine
you can give to prisoners without any fear is a
lovely bar of chocolate. However, you’d be wrong. Prisoners have been known
to get a chocolate bar with caramel in it, melt
it down on a hot plate, then fling it into the
face of another prisoner. Not only is chocolate
and caramel burning hot, it’s also very hard to remove from your face once it hardens. It would cause serious
facial damage to anyone unlucky enough to be on the receiving end. Number 10, razor blade comb. This hair-raising weapon was confiscated from a maximum security jail
in New Jersey in the 1980s. Prisoners in these special prisons don’t have much in the way of possessions, but they do have combs for their hair, laces for their shoes,
and razors for shaving. Here’s a comb with four of the tines replaced by razor blades
held in place with shoelaces and copper wire. Something tells me it wouldn’t be used as a hairstyling device anymore. Number nine, bunk bed spear. This one was found in San Quentin, one of the most notorious
prisons in the world, located just north of San Francisco. In 1985, three prisoners
fashioned a spear in their cells. They managed to take a piece
of steel out of their bunk bed using a clip from a paper binder. They sharpened it down to a deadly point and attached it to a pole
of rolled up newspapers and tied it all together with clothing. By listening to the amount
of steps a guard took after entering their wing of the prison, they could calculate where he was and whether he was in range of their spear without even seeing him. Tragically, Sergeant Howell
Burchfield was stabbed through the heart with this spear. All three inmates were convicted of murder and one was sentenced to death. Number eight, paper blade. Here’s proof that
prisoners can make a weapon out of just about anything. This is a paper shiv made from 25 pages of the National Geographic
rolled up tightly, then rubbed with soap and
salt to make them harder. It’s able to pierce
skin like a metal blade and could easily be
disposed of by flushing it down the toilet. In fact, prisoners have
also made a similar shiv out of toilet paper
through the old technique of papier-mâché; how resourceful. Number seven, double-barrelled pistol. This is a homemade
pistol found in the cell of two prisoners in Germany. It’s crude to say the least. Two metal tubes welded
together in the metal workshop with another piece of metal
stuck on the bottom as a grip. The shooter would fill the
barrel with match heads and use metal pellets as bullets. The gun was never used, which
is probably for the best. Although it could potentially
cause damage at close range, its rough construction meant
it was probably more dangerous to the shooter than the target. Number six, coat hanger saw. This simply made saw would
easily be able to cut through somebody’s skin and flesh. With a bit of effort and time, something prisoners have plenty of, it would cut through iron bars too. It was made from a wooden coat hanger, and a hacksaw blade
stolen from the workshop. The blade is screwed into
the wood and ready to go. Rather worryingly, this
contraption was confiscated from the mental hospital
wing of a German prison. Number five, spiked glove. This may look like an
ordinary gardening glove, but rather than protecting
you from sharp objects, this glove is full of sharp objects. A prisoner on gardening
duty stole a small glove and a larger, rougher gardening glove. He sewed the smaller one
inside the large one. He also sewed specially
sharpened carpet tacks into the space between the two gloves. It wouldn’t hurt when
he put the gloves on, but if he punched anyone
with it, it would drive nine razor blades into the victim’s face. Yikes. Number four, water bomb. You probably played with water bombs when you were a child, right? All good, clean fun. Water bombs in San Quentin,
though, are a different matter. In 2011, a prisoner dropped
a tied-up grocery bag full of water from the fifth floor onto the head of another
inmate on the ground floor. The grocery bag, which was strong enough not to pop on impact, could
hold up to 20 liters of water and weigh up to 44 pounds. That’s the same weight as two and a half, heavy bowling balls. Ouch! The victim was hospitalized
with critical injuries, luckily, not to be killed. Number three, razor whip. We’re back in Germany and
here’s a whip with razors on it. In 1996, a drug addict
in Fuhlsbüttel Prison had his cell searched
after a violent incident. They found this, a wooden
post with a shoelace attached to the top with some safety razors tied up and down the shoelace. Luckily, this weapon was
found before it could be used, otherwise, a bloodbath
of horrific proportions would have ensued. Number two, cross shiv. Homemade prison knives,
or shivs, are often carved out of everyday objects like toothbrushes, but often, they’re difficult to hide. In 1994, in Wolfenbuttel
Prison, a craze started amongst the prisoners
for making crucifixes out of wood in the prison workshop. The guards, thinking their
inmates had found religion, were happy to let this continue. That is until they discovered
a catch of crucifix shivs with sharp metal points
hidden under the wood at the long end of the crucifixes. I’d imagine they were
rather cross after that. Number one, radio bomb. Finally, a story of revenge
and a crazy prison weapon. South Carolina serial killer,
Donald ‘Pee Wee’ Gaskins was serving a life sentence
after being found guilty of a string of murders. In 1982, he was contacted
by a man called Tony Cimo who asked Gaskins if he
would kill another inmate in his prison. This prisoner, Rudolph Tyner,
was in prison for murdering Cimo’s mother and stepfather. Remarkably, Gaskins agreed. He poisoned Tyner’s food,
but that didn’t do the job. Somehow, Gaskins obtained
some C4 explosive, which he hid inside a radio set. He gave Tyner the radio and told him to put the radio to his head at night and they’d have a conversation,
like a walkie talkie. Tyner did exactly this and
Gaskins detonated the C4 remotely from his bed,
killing Tyner instantly. Gaskins received the death penalty for this particular crime. Which one did you think was the smartest or just the most brutal? Let me know in the comment
section down below. If you enjoyed this video,

I live nj and i saw the prison
They created a weopone in a cell
where do they get all that tape
German efficiency
Even the mental patients at German prisons have better ideas than American prisoners!
PEOPLE DONT WATCH THE WHOLE THING IT IS NOT WORTH UR TIME IT ARE NOT 20 REALLY DEADLY WEAPONS MAYBE. 5 ARE AND THE REST BECOMES DEADLY AFTER YOU BUILD SOMETHING WITH IT OR NOT EVEN DEADLY CHOCOLATE BAR The video starts with a chocolate bar, Non-Lethal fake weapon and a Grill? what the F? Coathanger saw that makes just scratches? Waterballoons? You guys are scammers man half of the videos is just crap to Don't say twenty if you don't even have enough material to make a video about ur claimed title. I will say just that this is not even worth watching and ur litterally Robbing people instead of giving people worth for their time and money
Rubber band, playing cards with shaving razors super glued to them. You'd be AMAZED what a prisoner can come up with. Don't eat the shiny mashed potatoes or the green jello
The comb razor comb is how dudes cut hair in some prisons. https://youtu.be/6kqpsnCq8bY
They are going about dealing with prisoners 100% wrong.
Put me in charge and when they are released they would be model citizens.
They would also be harmless to anyone accept themselves.
Especially those with extremely long sentences.
Starts at 1:01
what no tooth brush shivs or electrical weapons?
That cross bow was smart and sick but wat is up with that one prison clearly everyone in there was smart about how to make weapons
Holly a radio bomb
How did they get c4 in the jail clearly if they can get c4 in jail they can get anything fr fr I get it was the old days but still
Homemade grill is not a weapon it's for cooking he must be hungry
i cant beleive god found these
"Precision German engineering"
Is it me or do German prisons do like The A team villains, laying out all the necessary tools and parts to build weapons?
anyone else notice the dummy machine gun is made to look like a grease gun and its made from a grease injector?lol
I have made better wepons my self . But why to go guys . Evan a newspaper can shoot a large object such as a marble
Air or c.o.2 powerd rocket no metal in it all plastic as some plastic are stronger than steel . My big bore would fuck a elephant in 1
You are not ready for me . W.T.S.H.T.F you are lieabilatys for me bro
Face this wepon the spitfire wiped out germany battel for Britian nayparm english to a rifel round that can penatrate a tank GB for nothing bro
If the paper baral is clear the round will travel down it tape up the expantion chaimber a news paper will fire and kill
Even though there is 20 of them, somehow the video is entertaining the whole way through. Well done!
This weapon was found by a god.
3:42 that’s a morning start not a mace
What annoys me is how he calls every prisoner a violent maniac
Learn how to fuck’n talk before you start duin vi-ē-ōz māy-t. It’s pronounced u-loom-uh-nuhm. Not ally-min-yim Like a fucking faggot.
I made that crossbow..cant belive it's on this video and it's in a museum
Tape is the primary ingredient in most of these. He who controls the tape controls the yard
#1 definitely C4 Bomb, hdf do you get c4 in jail?
Hello.
Wow it’s like Germany wants world war 3
Think of a prison made crust fix sword
the smartest always is the one which was never caught and therefore we can't find it on youtube 🙂
Vorsprung Durch Technik
The prisoners that made these weapons.
The Engineer
German : goes to prison Looks like its time to make an atomic bomb
Mob of the dead
When talking about the prison whip, you missed the most important feature, heavy item tied at the end, so it generates enough force to cut someone when used. If it doesn't have that, its just a shoe lace or piece of cloth with razors on it.
How did he get C4
i really like the crossbow XD its nice well maded :V
Im watching this on a WISDOC computer. Been locked up for 15 years. Thanks for the tips
0:49: trying to figure out how the first one is lethal
10:43
Tyner: Puts radio up to his ear
Gaskins: whispers Omae wa mou shindeiru
Tyner: NANI??!?
Just get a sock and a soap put the soap in the sock
Better than that mace
I think it's amazing what these people have come up with. It seems like prison makes some people extremely creative, makes sense considering that there is nothing to do in prisons, lots of free time and you need to look for own safety.
Bruh see what happens when people get bored haha I make stuff all the time
Radio bomb the longest yard
The blade attached to the comb is used for cutting hair. In Livingston Parish Detention Center they dont ever have a barber so the inmates have to get resourceful. Especially when your stuck in the for 2+ years because of our messed up judicial system.
Smartest had to be the crossbow deadliest was the radio
Ordinary people: 100 iq
German prisoners:3000 iq
What the heck is going on in Germany…..
There not called water bombs there called water balloons
Well leave it to Germans with time on there hands to make murder weapons out of shit
And just I like I hope I will not get to work as a German prison guard
How can you mispronounce san Quentin in the same sentence as saying it's one of the most notorious prisons in the world?
So, I guess that means I should avoid going to prison in Germany at all costs.
Was enjoying the video…… then you had to make the cross pun.
That's just horrible…… you could have done better with that
Call me crazy but i expect a video titled "lethal Prison weapons" to include weapons that are lethal.
The wonder of german engineering never ceases to amaze me
Just to add insult to internal injury, all these weapons were shoved way way deep, real deep, Rick and Morty deep, in some guys rectum.. hey, If ya can't join em rectum..lol, that's how it goes right?.. "shove shove, shove in yer bum, shove shove, shove in yer bum, way up way up, up in yer bum!".. That's the song along they have in the rec yard.
Um… A guy made MILITARY grade guns in prison. Some of these are nothing compared to that.
Clever weapons, especially the radio stuffed with C-4.
Gods? damn u freak 🙂
O look another British narrator. Pass, dislike!
Hopefully none of those prisoners have escaped jail where they passed away
the worst i saw inside in the uk was when someone boiled a kettle with water, sugar and jam. The geezer didn't half scream!!!
TNT radio was the best (detonated via RF signal across walls)…crossbow second….it's amazing the creativity of dangerous weapons. Germany, within German prisons doesn't surprise me….their engineers are on a different level (I've witness their advanced brilliant code), and just in general…the people and population in Germany that I've run across are genuinely smart above other nations IQ.
Prison is a perfect place to demonstrate that taking firearms away does not eliminate or even mitigate the inclination towards violence. The only thing that works in prison is separating people using WALLS because WALLS actually do work. Doh.
Prat for the prison gaurds in Geemany 😂😂
These ppl couldve been rich with their ideas but they rather go think in prison lol
Its not a stabbing device its a shank
Pretty sure game of thrones didn’t have duct tape Zzz
How is it lucky for them not to die? Them being alive is costing taxpayers money. I say let em die.
This video should be entitled “ stick it to the Germans”
Yes i love playing with "water bombs"when i was little
Hows a fake gun lethal
#13 is a Junk Jet
Gotta admit, some of these prisoners woulda made great engineers if not for their …tendencies.
The intro – prison is horrible – as people are confined to a small space with little to do and a poor diet. That's my life outside of prison
The last was the most impressive, making a bomb with a remote detention
Dang
Im not to far from the prison at #10 i pass it all the time
All of a sudden as soon as you go in to prison it’s Minecraft in a nutshell
This childs toy compare to what u find in bilibid prison in philippines
Prisoners have been known to make shanks out of……poop.
Slingshot, not catapult
Stabbing device i never thought a knife had a screen
I agree with the thumbnail a crossbow can be ridiculously powerful even stronger than a gun
That bed post gun I respect
Canadian inmates make weapons?! I figured they use strongly-worded post cards.
Legend has it that when MacGyver was doing a stint in Sing-Sing, he escaped by making a tank out of a turd and a booger.
Ha! And people though Mercedes were make in a fancy factory.
1:23 OOF
Yeah I’m not going to Germany.
Pee Wee Gasgins was actually friends with Charles Green (The Angry Grandpa).
Prison razors are easy to brake. We break em all the time. We use em for all sorts of stuff, from giving haircutsvia (razor blade comb) to sowing to cooking food. Paper mache shanks made with piss and poop as the water is pretty common and super easy to make and get rid of, and if you get stuck with it you'll end up with a nasty infection. I've even seen swords made from bunk bed sheet metal cut with fingernail snips.
The comb with razors in it is used to cut hair
