>>INTERVIEWER: Hi James, how you going?>>JAMES: Yeah, good, how are you?>>INTERVIEWER: Good, thankyou. Can you tell me what qualification you’re doing as part of your apprenticeship?>>JAMES: I’m doing a Cert 3 in carpentry.>>INTERVIEWER: Great. How did you actually start
the apprenticeship? How did you find it?>>JAMES: Well, I actually went the opposite
way, I didn’t go through ATEL, I went through the actual business itself. So I went through Dynamic Developments,
and they actually put me onto ATEL, put me onto Daz, who actually set me up
with the whole apprenticeship.>>INTERVIEWER: Great. So how long do you think
you were looking for before you came across this job?>>JAMES: It was the first one I found!>>INTERVIEWER: Oh, great! Good stuff. and what do you do everyday on the job?>>JAMES: It’s quite diverse. I mean, this company that I’m with, I’m pretty lucky, because I’m only in my
seventh month, on my first year, and I’ve done skirting, doors, flooring, framing,
quite a lot of stuff.>>INTERVIEWER: The whole works?>>JAMES: Yeah, yeah.>>INTERVIEWER: Lots of variety.>>JAMES: Yeah, lots of variety, yeah.>>INTERVIEWER: And what are your plans,
once you complete your apprenticeship, still a far-off, bit away now, but when you
complete, where do you hope to be, where do you hope it’s going to take you?>>JAMES: Well, I’m looking to do a Cert 4
in building construction as well, and tied in with the Cert 3 I get from carpentry, I’m hoping to take it up sort-of foreman
or project manager.>>INTERVIEWER: Beautiful, sounds good. Well, thank you very much for doing the interview, and best of luck with your apprenticeship.>>JAMES: Thanks, Emma.
